Welcome!
I am a PhD student at Michigan State University in the Department of Integrative Biology and the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior Program. I am broadly interested in questions at the intersection of social behavior, ontogeny, and evolution. As a member of Dr. Kay Holekamp's Lab, I am looking at the nepotistic benefits and the costs of kin in spotted hyenas. I am focusing on the mechanisms of maternal aggression and kin support in offspring survival and access to resources particularly food. I am also applying this to clan level fission events.
